Mairena del Alcor is a municipality located in the province of Seville, in Andalusia, southern Spain. The municipality covers an area of 63.86 square kilometers and as of 2018 had a population of 22,937. Mairena del Alcor is located approximately 21 kilometers from the city of Seville.
The municipal term of Mairena del Alcor extends from the Guadiato river in the north, to the Cerro de San Cristobal in the south. The westernmost part of the municipality is situated at the junction of the A-92 and A-66 highways. The municipality includes several detached houses in the built-up area as well as several large estates on the outskirts. The Los Alamos and El Rincon del Guadalquivir estates are the two largest.
Mairena del Alcor has a public swimming pool, a library, a child care center, a senior citizens center, and a number of parks. The municipality celebrates a number of festivals throughout the year, including the Carnaval de Mairena, which takes place in February, and the Romeria de la Virgen de las Nieves, which takes place in August.
