Llanelli is a town in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, on the River Loughor. 7 miles (11 km) east of Carmarthen and 19 miles (31 km) northwest of Swansea. The population was 47,913 in 2011. The town is well known for its rugby tradition and is home to the Scarlets regional rugby union team. The Llanelli Scarlets play in the Pro14 and the Heineken Champions Cup.
