Daleville is a town in Botetourt County, Virginia, United States. The population was 4,228 at the 2010 census. Daleville is part of the Roanoke Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Daleville is located in the southern part of Botetourt County at 37°23′13″N 79°56′51″W / 37.386861°N 79.947306°W / 37.386861; -79.947306. It is bordered to the southeast by the city of Buchanan, the county seat. U.S. Route 11 (Lee Highway) passes through the center of Daleville as Main Street, leading northeast 17 miles (27 km) toRoanoke and southwest 22 miles (35 km) to Lexington. Interstate 81 passes just to the west of Daleville, with access from Exits 167 and 169. I-81 leads northeast 60 miles (97 km) to Roanoke and southwest 136 miles (219 km) to Bristol, Tennessee.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Daleville has a total area of 5.2 square miles (13.6 km2), all of it land. The town is in the valley of Tinker Creek, a tributary of the James River, which flows south through Roanoke to Richmond.
