WIAW on Vacation

On our recent trip to Arizona for Dodgers Spring Training, we ate some yummy food. So, today is WIAW on Vacation.
I don’t know why this Beef Jerky stand in the middle of nowhere is totally appealing to me, but I do love some beef jerky. We brought home a few bags – yum.
The first night we went to an Italian place – I had an olive tepanade and salami pizza. It wasn’t the best I’d had, but it was good.
Night two was dinner at Smash Burger – I had a junior burger, bunless with goat cheese and jalapenos. Awesome!
The last time we were in Phoenix, we were told to go here for dessert. Seriously awesome and indulgent.
Chocolate covered fry bread anyone? (and why dinner was a bunless burger – gotta balance out somewhere, right?)
Dinner on the last night was this amazing salad. It was filled with bulger, goat cheese, beets and other veggies. Amazing. Sorry for the crummy picture, but it was too good. (and I just realized I had goat cheese both nights – must have been craving it)
My kids think that Sonic is awesome on roadtrips (we don’t have any near us). On one of our two stops there, I decided to try the Sweet Potato Tots. They were pretty yummy and a pretty small portion, so that was nice.
At the Texas Rangers stadium, I had a veggie stir fry noodle dish. It was amazingly yummy. We watched the cooks dumping huge containers of fresh veggies into the stir fry – I think there were more veggies than noodles. YUM! So great to have such a veggie filled option at a baseball game. Dude and I shared this big giant box of yumminess.
And, what weekend would be complete without a beer at a baseball game? And, it was St. Patricks Day, so I had a green beer. I’m not a super huge beer drinker, but it was fun.
And because I’m on a huge egg kick right now – just a gratuitous yolk porn picture. Yum! I wish I could fry an egg like Heather at KissMyBroccoli – I’m working on it.
I’m linking up with Peas & Crayons today for WIAW. Thanks Jen for hosting the yummy link up. As the theme of the month is veggies, I’ll leave you with a final picture of how I sometimes eat the most random foods at work. Yesterday’s snack was a bag of cold green beans and a mini Babybell cheese. The Babybel people sent me some samples of their new Mozzarella flavor and it’s yummy. I shared some with the girls of the dance carpool last week and they all agreed that that mozzarella flavor was better than the original Babybel flavor.
