What I’m Loving These Days

Today I want to share some of what I’m loving these days with you. I love when I read these posts from other bloggers – I learn about new things and am reminded of other things that I love.
1. Food – of course I love food. I love good food. I talked the other day about eating real food and a while back about some ideas for healthy snacking. Here’s a way to combine the two. Nature Box – healthy snacks delivered right to your door. What I love so much about Nature Box is that their snacks are healthy with no artificial anything, but they also are a full service type organization. Here’s a full review I wrote a while back. They have an amazing website and blog that have recipes to incorporate their snacks as well as providing reliable and reasonable nutrition information. I was recently selected as a Nature Box Ambassador and I’m so happy to share my excitement for their yummy treats. Go check out Nature Box and if you use the promo code: FAMFITFOOD on your checkout, you will save 25% on your first month.
2. CSA – I’ve also talked before about Community Supported Agriculture. We recently signed up with Farm Fresh to You, a California based CSA that provides a rather flexible home delivery program. We are receiving their regular sized mixed box of fruit and veggies every other week. I love all the yummy food that we get. It’s encouraging me to try new recipes. I love opening the box with my kids and sharing the excitement of fresh food left on our doorstep. I read somewhere recently that sometimes farmers before going to a Farmer’s Market will pull out some of their best stuff for their CSA customers. Especially the things that may not have a large enough harvest to make it to a Market. Cool. Also, if you go to Farm Fresh to You and enter promo code: 6164 and share my name, you’ll get $10 off your first order. (I am in no way affiliated with Farm Fresh to You, I just love the service and want to share it with you).
3. The beach: I am so stinking thankful that I live 3 miles to the beach (actually it’s 2.87 if I’m running – you know all you runners know the exact distance to the good running spots, right?). We’re on week 2 of summer and we’ve now been to the beach 3 times. So what if the first week was cold. We were there again on Tuesday and it’s getting warmer! The water is still too icy for my liking, but the kids are okay. And, when we were there on Tuesday, I spent a lot of time digging with Dude and feel like I got in a little mini-workout. Double Score.
4. My Tommy Copper ankle sleeve. I was diagnosed recently with a Ganglean Cyst in my ankle. While I one day may have to have it removed, for now I was told to keep compression on it while I workout. My Tommy Copper sleeve is awesome. It’s comfortable and I’ve now washed it a bunch of times and it’s holding up really well (I hang it to dry). I’ve been having some trouble with my knee lately (on and off and not while running), and am seriously thinking I should get a knee sleeve too.
What are you loving these days? Any of these same things?
Happy Fitness Friday!! Thanks Jill for hosting.

So awesome that you live so close to the beach! Fun:) I also love TC. They save my legs:)

Thanks! TC is awesome. I wonder how long this one little ankle sleeve will last?
I love CSA’s too… I get so much more variety in my diet when I’m not choosing the veggies myself. 3 miles to the beach is so nice! We’re about an hour away, which is the closest I’ve ever been, so we try to go for a day on Saturdays once a month or so.

I was just talking to a friend about swapping out things from our CSA box. We have the option, but I like being ‘forced’ to try something new. Now if only my kids would play along… The beets are on my menu for dinner tonight finally.
Sorry to hear about the cyst on your ankle! Hope your TC sleeve keeps working for you.

The ankle sleeve is working miracles for now. I hope to be able to ignore the cyst (it’s inside my ankle somewhere) for as long as possible.
Everything you listed would be on my what I’m loving now list except that I don’t live close to the beach
Have a great weekend Carrie!

Thanks Jill. Hope you’re having a good weekend, too.
I want to come to your house and eat your food! It looks so much better than what I have here! I would love a csa program to be here and be affordable. And the beach. Just love that you live so close!

Thank you Amy. I’m still debating about the affordability of the CSA program. My box is $30 which I don’t think is cheap. But, it’s fresh and organic and local and all that, so I’ll take it.
