What I Ate Wednesday – WIAW – my 13th edition
It’s What I Ate Wednesday time. Thank you to Jen at Peas and Crayons for hosting this weekly blog hop.
Sensible snacking is such a key to healthy eating. You can check out my vlog about healthy snacking to see some ideas, too.
I set out last week to record some of my favorite snacks. Apparently when I’m really hungry for a snack, I tend to forget to take a picture of it.
But, I do tend to snack on the same things regularly. After working out, I like to have an apple with some of my homemade almond butter.
Then there’s also the go-to frozen yogurt as a snack. This visit was actually Dancing Girl’s favorite fro-yo place… not a serve yourself place. Oops, forgot to take the picture before devouring it.
I did look back through my food log for the week so I can at least share some of my other snacks… there were some cherries, cashews, popcorn and peanut butter cheerios.
And then this isn’t a snack, but I did have to have a few meals this week on the go. First was at Dude’s track meet last week, I knew I’d be there through dinner, so I brought this along.
Then at Dancing Girl’s dress rehearsal early Saturday morning, I packed along my overnight oats in a jar. Using up the end of the peanut butter jar is ideal for this. Scrape the sides of peanut butter goodness and then toss.
Happy Healthy Snacking! What’s your favorite snack?
I haven’t had that Clif bar flavor yet… Definitely need to give it a try!!
It’s actually not one of my favorites. I like the Chocolate Chip better. But I usually can’t go wrong with a Cliff Bar.
you were eating all my favorites this week:)
Yay! You have good taste
We eat very similar snacks! I love almond butter on bananas- haven’t put it on apples in a long time, but that’s really yummy, too! I’ve been making lots of homemade granola bars or date-nut balls, and eating those up… probably way overdosing on nut products, but it’s better than processed snacking!

I have got to try a nut ball recipe. My middle schooler will make lots of middle schooler ‘ball’ jokes while I’m baking I’m sure.
How have I missed the brownie Clif bar. Yum! I love almond butter on bananas and apples. I’ve been thinking about trying sun butter.

I picked up some sun butter a while back. I totally love it. It’s not quite as versatile as other nut butters, but I love sunflower seeds so I love it. It’s good on crackers or toast.
I always, ALWAYS keep a Lara bar or a Clif bar in my purse for dinner/late night/snacking emergencies! Other than that, I tend to eat a lot of fruit, sometimes carrots or celery with hummus, and nuts. Or I will have a small portion of a meal as a snack, lentils or sweet potatoes or chicken, but just a couple hundred calories worth. I have never tried making overnight oats in a PB jar, but it sounds good!
