Two Things Tuesday – inspiration and more
I want to first give a huge congratulations to Julia from Pain, Pride and Perseverence who completed her first Ultra Marathon this past weekend (50 miles). Go read her race recap, she’s an amazing writer and an amazing inspiration. And she’s got two cute dogs that cheered her on.
Second – look what I got fixed yesterday!!
So, my hard drive is still out for data recovery (it looks like it’s a ‘level 2′ recovery, so there’s hope I’ll get my data back). It’ll take 8-10 weeks and in the meantime, I needed a new hard drive anyway, so I got that repair done.
So, now I’m looking at a fresh start to my computer. I have to reinstall everything and set up all the accounts, programs, email settings… everything.
But, it’s so much better than using my husband’s computer.
Bad news – my calendar is different. I have OCD when it comes to my calendar. I print a four week running calendar every week. Since I’m now using the iCloud calendar synced to my Outlook instead of the other way around, the print settings are different. So, my printed calendar is only two weeks for the same space. Must. Be. Ok. With. Change.
And finally, I’m sick. A gnarly head cold that is wiping me out. My apologies to my family for whom I cooked a yummy dinner on Sunday night and then felt yucky right after. I hope I didn’t contaminate anyone. Although having the leftover soup in my fridge has been a welcome bit of yumminess.
Thera Flu is my friend and usually knocks these things out, so we’ll see how the day goes. Needless to say, there will be no working out today, it’s exhausting me to walk up and down the stairs.
Anyone else a little obsessive about their calendars?
I just got over a nasty cold myself! It totally wiped me out for about a week! Nof fun!
Julia—-what can I say amazing accomplishment!! Wow!

Thanks! I hate getting sick and it seems like I don’t get sick that often, but when I do, it’s a gnarly one. Ugh.
Oh man, I hope you feel better. Glad your computer is up and running though:)

Thanks! It’s such a pain to set everything up again, but at least it’s all working.
Sorry you’re not feeling well.
Hope that’s a short-lived thing!!

OOoh, my hard drive is in some random place in Kentucky or something … maybe they’re hanging out?
Um yes, calendars drive me nuts. My iCloud one disappeared into the vapor once, Talk about panic. Feel better!
OMG, iCloud was my savior with this whole computer crash… I was able to keep all my contacts and my whole calendar. I’d freak out if that vaporized.
I love your calendar! I am the same way…I have a color coding for everything! Green for family events, orange for running events, blue for work… etc… I like being able to look at it in one go and know what’s going on. I hope you feel better soon!

Each family member has a color. Occasionally my daughter asks me to change her color, I think I’m training her well.
Definitely OCD about my calendar! I’ve been sick too. Ugh! Hope by now you’re feeling better.
Yuck on being sick. I hope you’re feeling better too.
Hooray! Glad you have your computer back. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon!
