Two Things Thursday – Running for good and more running
1. Have you seen Saucony’s Run 4 Good Campaign? “R4G is a powerful personal running app and an easy way to fight childhood obesity. By tracking your miles with the app, you are helping Saucony and its partners donate to organizations that keep kids active and healthy. All for doing what you love to do anyway, running.”
This is a super easy and great way to let your running mileage help out a good cause. You have to have an iPhone – download the free Run 4 Good app and start tracking your mileage. Fitfluential has joined in on the campaign as well, go check out both Saucony’s website and Fitfluential (sign up for the newsletter) to join in on the campaign and help end childhood obesity.
I love that this links up lots of my favorites – my iPhone, running, Saucony and doing some good for charity. I’m thinking today’s run will be in my Sauconys
2. Thank you to everyone for the advice on my double half marathon plan for next month. On Tuesday I did an interval run with the goal of trying to see what kind of average pace I could keep with the intervals. I only ran 2 miles. My average pace was 10:45. Which is a bit faster than my goal half marathon pace. So, maybe this plan will work. I’d love to be able to do the intervals and still get a PR at the race. I did my run segments for 3:30 min and obviously I wasn’t very consistent, but I’m getting the idea.
That’s it for today – lots of running talk here. What’s your go to brand of shoes or are your a multiple brands person? I love my Saucony’s for shorter distances and cross training and my Brooks for long runs.
I wore Sauconys to train for my half and then a brand new, identical pair, to run the race in. I love them.

They’ve been good to me, too.
I won a pair of Kinvaras and they are great. I love them!
