Three Things Thursday – Statistics
Three Things Thursday
1. School is over! Yesterday was my chemistry final. Our final is a standardized placement exam for General Chemistry. I went to campus early and decided to go for a walk with my notes instead of staying home and finding ways to procrastinate. So, 3 miles later, I had gone over every formula and was on brain overload. Turns out, the test wasn’t remotely what I expected. I didn’t need 75% of what I studied. It was heavy on the algebra, and light on the chemical formulas. Grades were posted in the afternoon and I got an 82%! AND… based on the way I think she’s doing the math of the grades and because I had a few extra credit points, I just may get an A in the class! Oh Yea!!!!!
I can nerd out over the statistics at school. Here’s how we get score analysis on every graded item. The red arrow is the group of where my score fell.
2. My run on Tuesday was weird. I took the dogs out for the warm up. My usual little loop at home is 1.4 miles. So, we run the last .4 and I drop them home and continue on my own. The first mile sucked (doesn’t the first mile suck usually?). Just mental. Everything feels good. My Tommie Copper ankle sleeve is perfect. I’m feeling the same relief that I got with the tape, but it’s just more simple. I can even wash it. I wear it almost all day. Anyway, back to the run: The miles did get better, but it was a mental challenge almost the whole time. I finished my 3. The worst part – the whole rest of the day my toes hurt. They felt battered like I’d run 10 miles in shoes that were too small. Ouch. The only thing I can think of is that my socks were kind of slippery and maybe I did a lot of sliding around in my shoes? Anyway, here are the split times, maybe that’s why the run sucked – I was going much faster than I thought. My target HM pace is just about 10:55. I didn’t feel like I was working that hard. Maybe I should adjust my race pace goals? I don’t understand this pace thing. But, I liked the speed I was going, can’t I just stick with that?
3. Damn social media… We watched the Survivor Finale a day late and my social media addiction ruined it for me. Ugh! My own fault.
Do you like to look at statistics of things? Did you watch Survivor? It was a good season. I like the teaser for the Fall season, too! We’ve watched every season and love that show.
