Three Things Thursday
1. I’m a new Sweat Pink Ambassador! What’s Sweat Pink? It’s a community created by the super inspiring Jamie and Alyse. As a new Sweat Pink Ambassador, I’m so excited for this: “Sweat Pink Ambassadors live the Fit Approach mission every day: they sweat hard, play hard, and inspire those around them to achieve their best selves.” Up until Fitbloggin, I had no idea how amazing a group of people this was. I was so motivated and inspired (is that redundant?) by ladies like Jamie, Kyndra, Amy, Melissa, Rachel, Mindy, Kat and so many others, I just had to see if I could be a part of the group. I’m so excited.
Jamie taught an awesome yoga class at Fitbloggin.
These ladies are amazing – and Kyndra has amazing elevator ceiling photo taking skillz.
2. Speaking of sweating – - I’m in a sweating funk. I’m bored with my morning workouts. Or maybe I’m just bored because I’m babying my ankle and my toe. Basically, I think I hit the limit of what the chiropractor and ART can do for these two aches. I can’t admit that they’re specific injuries, just more like achy parts that are lingering for way longer than they should. There’s possibly some ligament issue going on with my ankle. And my toe… well, there is definitely some arthritis going on (we took x-rays), but we aren’t sure if the pain is related. I definitely have lost a little range of motion in my toe and that sucks. My ankle really still mostly hurts to the touch. However, now after I work out, I do get a pinching pain. It doesn’t hurt to walk or even run. So, I’m going to the doctor tomorrow. It’s an orthopedist that specializes in ankles and feet. Same guy that diagnosed my ganglean cyst last year (which is not the same ankle that hurts now and the cyst gave me no trouble once I started wearing compression when I exercised). So, we’ll see how this goes.
3. Maybe not my brightest idea, but I’m participating in a race on Saturday. Yea, I know… see #2 above. I say participating because I have no grand plans of anything except moving my body for 3.1 miles. I’m doing this race because it’s the very first race that I ever ran. And I’ve done it every year since. And, Saturday is my Birthday!!! So, it’s my happy birthday present to myself to run/walk/shuffle for my anniversary race – The Hills Are Alive and I’m starting my 42nd year with pledging my commitment to my active lifestyle and taking care of myself. By the way, I’m not sure what’s wrong with me, I usually talk for weeks on end about my birthday (we love birthdays and half-birthdays) and I haven’t. I am definitely preoccupied with the ache in my ankle
Is there a race you try to do every year?
