Three Things Thursday
1. Last night I got in my miles in honor of Grandma Lil’s 96th Birthday Virtual Run. My blogger friend Rachelle’s Grandma’s birthday. How awesome to celebrate 96 years!
2. I’m working my way through setting up a new theme on my blog (one of my 28 day Blogger Challenge goals). What do you think? I’m having a hard time with the thumbnail images. Remind me that it’s not a good idea to activate a new theme at 5:30 in the morning when you have 15 minutes before going to work. I just kind of figured if I didn’t get it started, I’d never get it going. This is obviously a multiple day project. I like the way the front page looks, but on the post pages, it’s looking a little cluttered. I’ve got to figure that out. If you’re reading this by email or on your reader, I’d love it if you came to check it out live so you can tell me what you think. Thanks! And thank you to Presley at RunPrettyBlog.com for the inspiration.
3. Why is it that I can fit in workouts every day that I go to work. Yet, on Fridays when I don’t work, I can’t find the time. At least it’s really become my rest day.
Shortest post for me ever. Hope you’re all having a great week.

The new look is nice, but it is a tad bit cluttered.
I’m not sure about that Friday thing. haha. I always find the time on the weekends! When I usually get up at 4:30, getting up at 7:30 and working out is super easy.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s easy for me to plan the weekend workout too. It’s Friday that’s getting to me.
Looking good but a bit busy…but you will fix that you said
I would add a home tab

Thanks. You can get ‘home’ by just clicking on the main title. I never thought to add that button. I will.
Great job getting in your 5k! Don’t worry, changing blogs around takes a while. I am still tweaking mine and trying to figure things out:)

It’s fun to tweak things around, but such a time suck. I love the way yours is coming together! Happy Birthday again to your grandma. When is the actual date?
Ooh, the new theme is exciting! I’m thinking about switching to two sidebars, too. I really like your new look!

I think I’ve evolved from 2, back to 1 and now back to 2. I like the summary excerpts on the front page best about the new theme.
Good luck when you do yours!
Short but good! haha Good job with the blog tweaking. I’m so scared to mess with mine!

The funniest part about making the switch was that it looked so awful and then I had to leave it. I told my husband that I broke my blog. It’s slowly coming together. Thanks!
Great job on the run! You will get your theme just right … no rush
It’s exciting!

Thanks!!!
New themes looks good, but it seems the two side bars actually total more space than your middle section, so it’s hard to know where to focus the attention. I like the clean colors and lines though. I also find I can get working out during the week done but come Friday or the weekend and suddenly it’s like time moves differently

I totally agree. That’s a great way to describe the problem. The center needs more space. Thanks!!
Yes, blog tweaking is a huge time suck. I think I spent an hour just rying to size the photos in my footer on Monday!
But, it is fun and nice to see the end prodcut!
On my browser, the first words of the text in your header blend into the backround. Plus, I miss seeing you and your dogs up there!
The RSS follow box seems out of place between the title of the post and the text. Can you move it above or below the “connect with me” box?

I am bad about fitting in workouts on days off, too, especially if they are non-weekend days off (holidays, snow days, etc.). I think it’s the routine of work that helps. +1 for reasons I would not be a good stay at home mom!

ha! I would totally do that – change my theme or do something that would break my blog 5 minutes before heading out the door. So great that you are doing the 28 day challenge. There are so many little things that I want to tweak. The new look is nice but I agree with some of the other comments that the sidebars look a little cluttered. I think that you need a little more delineation between the sidebars and the center of the page…I think.
