Three Things Thursday – cloning, Costco and tying shoes (I couldn’t complete that alliteration, brain freeze)
1. Has anyone figured out how this cloning thing can work? I need to be in two places at exactly the same time tomorrow. The good news is that the first place is because I made it past the test part of that job application and my panel interview is tomorrow. Yay! But, I also need to be at Dude’s school to help set up the snack part of the Healthy Ever After program. Please let the parents that I’ve emailed out of desperation be able to help out tomorrow.
2. Something I’m loving these days – my new Misto sprayer. I used to have something similar and it broke and it didn’t ever work that well. Then, I read an article about the ingredients in Pam and how it contains propellant and other chemicals and decided I needed to get back to something a little more natural. On my outing to Costco the other day, I found a two pack of sprayers. I filled one with olive oil and it works amazingly. Love it. I also bought a huge box of grapes to feed my nightly frozen grape addiction.
3. I haven’t been working out much. My toes are still hurting from the race last weekend and I’m still babying my IT Band. I came across the video below (Thanks Tammy) about how to tie your shoelaces properly to avoid toe pain. I’m going to try this. I did a strength workout on Tuesday and may try to go for a bike ride today. If the predicted rain holds off, maybe I can try an easy run this afternoon. Or, maybe it’ll be better to give my ITB a little longer rest. I’m playing this one by ear.

Congrats on the interview:) I hope someone will step up and help! Thanks for the info on the sprayers, the info about Pam is disturbing. I will have to throw mine away and head to Costco:)

I know that the little bit of chemicals in Pam is probably not that huge of a deal, but it seems like if each thing we consume has a little bit, it just adds up. And, this one has an easy substitution.
I am always very particular with how I tie my shoes. I am obsessive about them not being too tight or too lose. I was told at the running store to put them on and then hit your heel on the ground a few times (while sitting) to make sure that your heel is in the proper place, then tie firmly.
I do the heel thing too when I’m trying shoes on and now that you mention it, I realize that I don’t do it when I put the shoes on to run. Now, that doesn’t make sense.
I love my misto! Laura’s pancake post is awesome! I can’t wait to try a few of the recipes. I’m hyperaware of how my running shoes feel on my feet. The lace up is key!

I had pancakes the other day for lunch because her blog made me drool.
Hmm, cloning is a great idea, except I think I may find myself really annoying if the two of us were to meet. LOL
That shoe-tying tip is interesting. I wonder if that would solve my black toenail problem. I’m glad you’re taking it easy on those injuries!

I also realized that my toenails weren’t trimmed short enough too, so maybe both fixes will be good.
I have never seen anyone tie their shoes like that! What part of your toes were hurting? The tops?

The tips of my toes are hurting. Like they were banging the front of my shoes for the whole 13 miles. I’m going for a longer-ish run tomorrow and will be testing the new tying technique. Although I also trimmed up my nails, so I’m sure that will help, too.
