Three {long} Things Thursday
There are many days where I write stuff here and then think to myself, “does anyone really care what I write?” There are so many more important things in the world than my blog and my little journey of health. But, then I think again, ‘this is my blog, I get to write about what I want, right?” It’s like my therapy sessions and my outreach to an online support group of people going through the same things as me. So, I come back.
So – - onward… Three {long} Things Thursday
One: I’m so bummed that Best Body Bootcamp is over. And, I’m also bummed that I wasn’t one of the lucky 5 ladies to win one of the $1000 grand prizes (is that not an awesome motivation to stay consistent through the 8 weeks?). But, I am super fantastically happy about the results of bootcamp. Not only do I see the results when I look in the mirror, but I took some measurements last week and saw a few changes: 1/2 inch in my arms and 1 inch in my hips!
Even better is that the strength training has inspired me to keep up the routine. The other morning, I actually got my workout in at home before 7AM. That’s unheard of for me. I pulled out one of my favorite workouts from bootcamp and instead of blogging one morning, I got in a workout. Yay me!!!
I’ve signed up for Round 4 of Bootcamp – starts January 7th, I’m so excited.
Two: I went for a run yesterday!!! I’ve started stretching my foot a bit differently over the last few days and it’s feeling a little better. I wanted to test things out – it’s been 6 weeks since I ran, that’s got to be enough rest right? I was also realizing that the walks I’ve been taking lately really make my foot feel like it’s stretching out and that maybe a short run would be okay.
So, I walked for 1/2 mile and then ran for 1/2 mile. I started at a 12:00 pace and increased it to 11:30 for the last bit. (Then I did an interval bike workout for 25 min) Everything felt great. My arch felt tight, but no different than any other post-workout feel. I took off my shoe and stretched my arch and then rolled my foot over a ball for a few minutes before I left.
See my cute new headband? Courtesy of ChicaBands and a giveaway from Michael at Slowly Tri-ing. I got a sparkly red one, too. Love them.
Three: Anyone remember a few months ago that my computer was attacked by a nasty virus and I had to send out my hard drive for some data recovery? Well, 10 weeks later – I got it back and I think almost everything of importance was recovered. YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! One thing that was a bummer is that we had to put together our holiday card before I got my picture supply back. So, our pictures on the card weren’t my first choice. Oh well.
Anyone else suffering a little blogger writers block? Feeling a little insignificant? Is it the tragic events of last week? Or just the holiday blahs?
feeling the same way here, but you are right, it’s your blog and you can write whatever you want. we love to read it:) Glad your computer is back safe and sound!

Thanks! I’ve had a few IRL friends tell me lately that my blog is boring. Totally bugs me. It’s my blog. Grrr…
I’m glad your foot is feeling better. With your focus on your arch, is it plantar fascitis? Do you try to wear good, supportive shoes all the time? I’m so busy trying to get my work done so I can take some time off last week, I haven’t had time to think of anything else.

I do think it’s PF. And I think that’s some of my problem. I wear awesome running shoes and then not so awesome shoes the rest of the time. Luckily (or not), I’ve been able to wear my running shoes a lot more lately and I think it’s helping.
I’m glad that your foot is feeling better too. I know what you mean about bootcamp. I’m sad that it’s over and also sad that I wasn’t one of the winners
It was a great experience and good for you for signing up for Round 4! Can’t wait to hear how it goes.

So, it sounds like you aren’t doing the next round? Wouldn’t it have been awesome to win?
Yay for keeping up with BBB! So happy to hear you’re running again and feeling great.

Me too! Thanks!
The inches lost are amazing! I also had no idea there were those types of prizes involved.
Yes, I’d agree to the definite blogging block. I have some time off from work so hopefully I’ll get some of my blogging mojo back.

Thanks! Yes, there are awesome prizes. There’s a $100 winner each week and a $250 winner at the end chosen from those people that share about BBB via social media throughout the program. And then there are a number of $1000 winners depending on the overall number of participants. This past time there were 5. Last I heard based on registration for Round 4, there are 3 $1000 prizes planned. But, there is still another week of registration to go.
I don’t know why or for whom I write my blog, either, but I like it, so I just do it. I really don’t care much who reads or doesn’t read it.
Glad you got your info back off your computer!! Whew!!

Yes, my blog is for me. The writing is therapeutic and I love sharing things that I learn. Thanks for the reminder.
Hurray that your computer is back and you didn’t lose everything! I have been having writer’s block/running block/holiday block…etc! You are not alone!

Thanks! I think I’m glad for the holiday schedule this week. I don’t feel like I have to post anything on my blog until Wednesday.
