The Week

So, that Run Streak… well, I didn’t actually run yesterday. With the holiday yesterday, we decided to head to Disneyland for a little family fun day.
the background looks fake – it’s not
when did my kids start getting closer to my chin height?
So, there was a lot of walking involved in the day. I’m sure I walked about 2-3 miles, but none of them were dedicated to running, not even close. So, I guess I have to call an end to the official Run Streak. However, since it’s my blog and my rules, I’ve decided to rename it – to Mile A Day. In that sense, I’ve kept it all alive.
We only stayed at the park through lunch (yay for having annual passes and not killing ourselves when we go), but before we headed home, we had to make a trip to the Lego Store. So, as we were walking down the main Downtown Disney strip and I decided to set my Run Keeper. Ok, that’s all seriously wacky. Here’s what my lovely GPS tracking told me happened.
I think that’s plenty of research support to show that the iPhone GPS gets wacky in between buildings. Anyone ever had a problem like that with a GPS watch? Have you all had enough of me and my GPS obsession? When’s my birthday again? oh wait, Mothers’ Day is sooner… hmm.
Anyway, I’ve got 3 weeks until Surf City Half-Marathon and this is actually my last week of vacation as my classes start back up next week. Where does the time go? My running buddy and I are changing our long run plan to run on Friday this week, so here’s the plan:
Tue: 3 miles
Wed: 3 miles
Thurs: cross train
Fri: 11 miles
Sat: cross train
Sun: rest
I really want to hit up that Sunday morning Yoga class again, but we’ve got a super busy day. So, no Yoga… bummer.
My goal for the week is to add in a 3rd run day (short and easy) and to make sure to hydrate well and to take it easy after my run on Friday so that I don’t repeat my total exhausted afternoon as last week.
What’s your workout plan for the week? Do you save up for a big ticket item or put it on a wish list for a birthday?

So much fun! I love Disneyland. It’s nice that you have an annual pass so you don’t have to try and see everything all at once. You plan looks great for this week! I am snowed in right now, so will have to figure something out here at home:(

Shoveling snow counts for a good workout. Do you ever have to do that? Hope you are off to a good start to the week. Stay warm!
I am totally slacking on my Saturday yoga too!
I think you did great with still doing a lot of activity at Disneyland! I also think its great to readjust things so the one don’t burn you out and two so that you feel they are fun and enjoyable!

Keeping things fun and enjoyable is totally key. Thanks for the reminder.
I usually ask for big ticket items for holidays (although it just means saving up for it or paying it off on the credit card after…). Yay for spending the morning at Disneyland, I miss going down for just the day when my girls weren’t in school. I can’t wait to be there next week!

Wow, it’s next week! I’m still working out the timing of our weekend to try and make it down to cheer you on. I sent Disney an email to see if there were volunteer opportunities left, but the only thing they needed was at the Friday expo and I’ve got school. Bummer. I’ll keep you posted.
If you can’t make it I understand, but it would be totally amazing if you did!!
