After a late night last night on top of many days in a row of exercise without having a rest, I was really looking forward to a day of nothing. But, Amanda at Run to Finish was hosting a Virtual Race to start off the year.
How I would have liked to stay all day;
pj’s and a cup of coffee – leftover makeup from the night before
But, it was better to get moving, so I headed out at around 2PM. I decided to just go a mile, mainly because I also decided to take my dogs. My poor dogs never get to go. One of them is sadly out of shape.
So, we went one whole mile.
Here’s what Petey thought when we got home.
I decided that the Resolution Run Bib picture should be his, since he was the most tired.
Cassie would have kept going, but that was all that we needed to do today.
Thanks for hosting Amanda.
Hmm… it gets me thinking about those people who do the Run Streak challenges… Maybe I’ll start a streak of my own… at least a mile a day. Can’t be too bad, right?
In other news, a while back, I was consistently participating in a great monthly challenge hosted by Robby at Fat Girl v. World – Go The Distance. I dropped off the radar of those challenges for a while, but have decided to pick back up again for 2012. Robby is now hosting a year long challenge. I’m challenging myself to complete 1000 miles this year. I’m having a hard time coming up with an exact number of miles I completed in 2011, but I think it was just about 700. For the Go the Distance challenge, I’m also going to include elliptical miles (since that’s really only 5 miles a week-ish and judging from my injury/achiness ups and downs, I want to have something to count towards the goal). So, it’s going to be a challenge to hit 1000. I think it’ll be a good one. It’s all about setting a goal and putting in my best effort to get there. There’s no prize at the end, just some personal satisfaction and a great support network while I’m out there.
Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you’re having a relaxing holiday. I’ve had the most wonderful few weeks off with my family. We’ve relaxed, done a few fun things and spent some good time together. And now, I’m ready for them to all go back to school.
Did you participate in the Resolution Run? Have you checked out the Go the Distance Challenge? Let me know so we can cheer each other on.
