Proudest Moment

Today’s Blogger Challenge Topic is to share the Proudest Moment of Our Lives.
Wow… that’s a big one. I can think of lots of proud moments, but I’m not sure if any of them get the “of my life” status. And, I also want to differentiate between being happy and being proud. I am pulling out the proud moments as things I worked really hard to achieve or watched my kids or husband work hard to achieve. Happy events like getting married, my kids being born, etc are a different emotion.
Very proud moments:
-
When my kids behave in a way that other adults give compliments – like hearing a story of how they were kind and helpful to other kids or adults.
-
Finishing my first 5K and my first half-marathon
-
When I was losing weight, the first time I walked into a store and put on a small-ish size pants and they fit comfortably.
-
Graduating from college and also when I received my MBA.
-
Watching my daughter perform a challenging dance and watching my son stand on the podium at his track meet.
Hmm… I’m sure there are more. I’ve been thinking about this one for a few days and am struggling. Is it that I haven’t achieved things? Or is it just that the bar is set high and I have yet to feel ‘accomplished’? Or is it that I’m not stopping to smell the roses and appreciate my accomplishments?
In other news… here’s something to be proud of… MMT and I are trying something new today. Here’s what we’re doing.

Funnily enough tried it for the first time myself just yesterday! Great core workout! Have fun!
Funny! It was a great core workout. It was a beautiful day and I’m so glad I went.
I’ve never done paddle boarding. It looks very challenging but fun. Can’t wait to hear how it went!

We were in a calm marina, so it wasn’t all that challenging as far as rough surf, but it was a good workout. Will report more later.
Have fun paddleboarding, it looks like so much fun!

Thanks!
I troed standup paddle boarding once, felt more like an hour of learning how to get out of the water and onto the board.
Pride & Happiness, very different. Happiness comes from enjoyment; I can enjoy watching a football game and feel happy. But watching a football game give me no pride, I’m accomplishing nothing other than entertaining myself. Pride come from doing something that positively impacts myself or others.
Great Question!

Were you paddle boarding in the surf? We were in really calm marina water, so it wasn’t too tough. More on it soon.
Thank you for your input on happiness v. pride. I don’t think I really thought about the difference before today. Love blogging
Wow on the stand up paddle boarding! Can’t wait to hear more about it.

Yippee! Didn’t make a fool of myself… I think. More soon. It was fun, my legs are exhausted in a way they’ve never been before.
OOOh! I hope you are having (or had!) fun paddle boarding. I tried it in Florida and it was fun! But I didn’t try to surf like that guy is!

I just posted my recap of paddle boarding. We didn’t hit the surf like that guy, so it was pretty fun. The surf would be so hard.
I like your proud moments. It’s great to share in the successes of your children, isn’t it?

P.S. – Kudos for the paddle boat thing. It looks like it’s pretty hard.
