Pre-race Pedicure and Gear

I know my gym buddy will appreciate this picture (hope you’re feeling better, too).
Yesterday I treated myself to a pre-race pedicure. I also enjoyed a free Starbucks drink while I got a foot scrub and enjoyed the massage chair. Wow, it was a nice treat. The free drink was because of my Starbucks addiction, so I had earned it from rewards points. As Tonya on Twitter pointed out, wouldn’t it be fantastic to have a nail salon in a Starbucks?
I know this is a sharp contrast from the nasty foot picture of a few weeks ago. I just wanted to prove that I do remember to take care of my feet occasionally.
I also rewarded myself for my kick butt effort in #JanGTD with some new gear. I bought a belt that can hold keys and small items. I know you’re not supposed to use new gear the first time for a race, but I don’t count a tiny belt. I put my phone in an armband so I only need a pouch for keys and id tomorrow.
Tomorrow is race day! I’d love to bring my camera, but I’m not sure if I feel like carrying it. Also, bummer that there’s some construction on the course, so much of the usual beach route is one block away. Oh well. I’ve heard that people hang out on apartment balconies to cheer runners on. And I have plans after the race to have champagne brunch with a group of people who are also running (although I only know 1 of them). Should be a fun day.
See you Monday with a race recap! Have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the Super Bowl!
