My Feet Hurt

I don’t know what’s wrong with them, but my feet hurt. They’re driving me crazy. I think it started with a bit of Plantar Fasciitis, but now I’m not sure.
They just ache. I mentioned last week that I had to cut my lovely Mothers’ Day morning run short because my foot was hurting. That was definitely PF. Pain in the arch of my foot. I’m really really being good about rolling my feet twice a day. I have a tennis ball on the floor in my room and I roll my foot every morning while I dry my hair and then again at night.
That pain seems to be getting better, not so tight, although I haven’t run since that day, so who knows if it’s gone. But, my big toe hurts too.
The main joint of my toe on my right foot. It hurt one time pretty bad the first week I did bootcamp and then it seemed fine. Then the last week, it’s started up hurting when I did lunges or push ups when my toe is flexed and kind of the only thing holding me up. Ouch. So, I modified a bunch of moves to try not to cause that position.
Then, this past weekend, we did Mouse Adventure at Disneyland and walked for 6 hours around the park. I had that general, I’ve walked too many miles, foot achiness. But, it seemed worse. Almost like I had walked for 12 hours.
On Monday, they still hurt. So, I skipped bootcamp. I wore compression socks all day and the achiness got a little better. I did go for a walk while Dude was at his track workout. My feet still ached, but it still just felt like I had walked too much.
My big toe still hurts, but only if I bend it back. So, I’m not doing that.
I wore compression socks again on Tuesday and took the day off from working out completely. Same thing yesterday. I had ordered some new Tommie Copper compression socks and I wore them yesterday. They feel good.
The achiness is gone. The toe pain is still there if I flex my foot with weight on it.
So, I think there are two problems – my toe and the general achiness. The toe doesn’t cause me any pain while wearing shoes.
I think the problem is the barefoot workouts. Bootcamp is at a gymnastics facility, we are on the bouncy floor. I’m sure I’m not properly supported and have bad form on something that over the course of doing bootcamp 3-4 times a week for the last 6 weeks, it’s just built up.
I have flat feet. I used to wear inserts when I was a kid. Maybe I need some inserts again. I guess I start with the orthopedist for a referral?
I’m continuing to skip bootcamp. Although I plan to get on my exercise bike and do some weights at home this morning.
The extra sleep these last few days has been heavenly. I’m thinking that it might be time to try something new – as much as I’m enjoying this bootcamp, there’s a new round of Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp starting up in a few weeks and it just might be the perfect time to start working out at home. Oh – now that I think about it, I’ve been working out barefoot longer than just this bootcamp. When I did the last 2 rounds of BBB, I would workout barefoot at home too. Uh oh – that’s since October that I’ve been working out barefoot. Bad me. Must. Wear. Shoes. At. Home.
The lack of working out is getting to me. I was definitely on edge yesterday (that and it was a super long day and MMT has too many end of year activities right now, so I’ve got full parenting duties alone most nights). But, the extra sleep has been heavenly. I’m not quite a zombie at 9PM these days. I can make it to 10. Party on! But, I need those endorphins. Sorry about the whining today.
Stupid feet. I’m trying to come up with a big new plan and you’re getting in the way.
