My Favorite Workout Routine

Today’s Blogger Challenge Topic is to share my Favorite Workout Routine.
My favorite workout is a long run. I love setting out my clothes the night before and getting up early to head out. My pre-run routine is to eat a banana with some dark chocolate peanut butter on top and then head out. My favorite route takes me about 1/2 mile to my meet up spot with K and then we head 3 miles to the beach and back home.
We run slow on a long run, so it takes a while to feel tired. And, with company the miles fly by. There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment after finishing a long run.
But, that is only a few times a month. So, I have to come up with other workouts that I enjoy to keep myself motivated. Lately, with my knee being a little cranky, I’m trying to cut out the elliptical and the bike for a while. These seem like the activities that make my knee angry.
So, I’ve been on a new plan – run 3 days a week, yoga 1 day a week and strength training 2-3 days a week. I’ve been on a roll with doing some workouts at home, so here are a few of my favorites. I’ve saved more on my Pinterest Workout Board if you want to go check those out. My favorite workouts come from FitKnitChick‘s Home Workout Page. Check out her link for some great home workouts – they’re all great. My second favorite workout source is Blonde Ponytail, check out her page, too.

I have been loving some of the workouts I find on blogs, too! You mentioned some great links. I’m also enjoying Tina’s boot camp (from tinareale.com) and others. But I’m with you- my all time favorite is still the long run.

I’m so excited that Tina announced her new dates, I’m going to do it the next go around. I think the timing will be perfect.
I love long runs too – especially when I have someone to run with.

I’m really happy that my running buddy and I have been able to do the long run together for quite a while. The miles fly by.
I agree, my all time favorite is the long run, but always fun to try the new workouts posted by others

People come up with some great workouts. I really like the no-equipment needed workouts.
My favorite workouts are my new addiction to Group FItness Classes. I take one Monday-Friday. I love that they keep my body guessing, sore, and never bored. Each class is about an hour and kicks my ass. I take 2 Body Pump, one interval spin class and one circuit training class. So awesome.
I also just love running though. I threw some Fartleks in this week and it really kept it from getting boring. Have you tried those on your long run?

I love group fitness classes, too. I don’t do them often enough. But, my weekly yoga class is excellent.
I haven’t done Fartleks on a long run, but I do like to mix up my shorter runs with some sprints and speed changes. That keeps things interesting.
I think my favorite workout routine, other than running, is P90X! I’m going to do the 90-days again when I finish 90-day of Les Mills Pump. Off to check out your workout board.

All I can think of now when I hear about P90X is Paul Ryan. But, I’m so impressed with anyone who does that – serious stuff.
