I don’t straighten my hair all that often, but I did this past weekend. And, I discovered that not only do I have less hair, but it’s considerably lighter than it used to be. Maybe too many ponytails, too much sun damage? I also realized that I’m in desperate need of a haircut. You can see how light it is next to my black shirt.
Then, there are my toes. It’s my own fault for forgetting to keep them super short. But, they’re yucky. Turn away… I warned you. No, there is no polish on them and you’re welcome for not getting too close.
When I proudly proclaimed my first lost toenail several weeks ago, I didn’t realize what was hiding underneath. When I took the polish off that big toe, I honestly scrubbed and scrubbed. I thought it was polish stained. Nope. So, the casualty count looks like there are 3 nails that will be gone.
I’m totally willing to sacrifice a little sun damaged hair and some gross toes for having the rest of my body be quite healthy. My strong heart and muscles are totally worth it.
It’s a good reminder though to make sure and wear sunscreen. If my hair has gotten that sun damaged, imagine what’s going on to the rest of my body. I’m usually pretty good about it, but have been slacking off in the cooler weather.
Do you remember sunscreen? How are your toes looking lately?
Happy Monday! I start school today! (no, I didn’t finish my book over the weekend – hopefully school work will start light and I can) Thank you to my mother-in-law for watching Dancing Girl who was home sick with a fever this weekend and needs another day at home. Thanks Grandma!
