I did it! I finally recorded a video blog. It’s me, right after a workout, no makeup, big giant pimple on my chin and all. Pretty much how I look 90% of the time, so I thought I’d just share.
I try not to have “Food Rules”, but there are a few guidelines in our house. One is about snacking. Snacks are fine, snacks are part of a healthy day. What isn’t fine in our house is grabbing the whole box of snacks and eating mindlessly.
Here’s how our snack cabinet is organized.
I started putting snacks into airtight containers because you know how kids (and adults) never close boxes properly? I hated having snacks get stale. So, now I get the click on top type containers and everything lasts longer.
Watch my first vlog to see my other healthy snacking ideas.
Good idea? How do you encourage healthy snacking in your house?
Great job on your first video! I agree with you; its all about portion sizes. I don’t think you shouldn’t have snacks, only that you should realize what a portion is and eat accordingly! Great message. Also, I love your cabinet organization. I really like those snapable containers!
such a good point about mindless eating. i used to cut out all snacks because i thought they were bad…but now im realizing that snacks, eating balanced and regularly throughout the day keep my metabolism going and keep me from mindlessly grabbing TOO much food at meal times. i like how you have all your snacks organized!
Love the vlog! I did that when I was taking snack and lunch to work. I put a serving size in the bag and that was all I’d have. I probably need to do that now too because I’m guilty of the mindless eating on the couch from time to time!
I loved your vlog! Thanks for the great ideas. I never thought to put a serving size of snacks in a bag to grab and go. I will implement this for sure:)

Thanks! I love the snapable containers, no excuses for not getting a lid on correctly.

Snacks are important (even the junky ones on occasion). It’s a good lesson to learn.

Thank you! Someone told me once that Weight Watchers suggests a similar snack idea. Who knew?
