Foodie Pen Pals

Thank you to the wonderful Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean for hosting a monthly Foodie Pen Pals exchange. Lindsay (a Dietetic Technician who is studying to be an RD) matches each person up with a blogger buddy to exchange a fun box of Foodie Goodies. Thank you Lindsay, it must be a lot of work, there were over 200 people who participated in February.
The lovely Katie at CupKatesChicago was my Pen Pal this month. Katie was on the ball and sent my package out early in the month. And it was quite a box of treats.
While I might consider myself a foodie – I’m in no way a ‘food blogger’ as my pictures confirm.
She was even thoughtful enough to send Jelly Bellies for my kids. Dude wasted no time diving right in to one box.
Everything in the box was great! We especially loved the homemade granola, which prompted a granola making attempt from me that wasn’t nearly as good using this recipe. Kate blogged about her granola recipe here and let me tell you, it was fantastic!
Other items in the box that I haven’t already shared:
- Oatmeal – from a local Chicago cafe (yay oatmeal!)
- Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate filled with Speculoos cookie spread
- Kind Bar: Sesame & Peanut
- Kashi Go Lean Bar: Caramel Peanut
- Qbel Dark Chocolate Crispy Rice Bar (my favorite)
- Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate with caramel and sea salt
- Kaia Foods Kale Chips
- A Cookies & Cream Rice Krispie Bar (I think this is the last item standing, we’ve demolished everything else)
Kate – thank you so much for all the goodies. I loved how you put a Chicago flair to the package and included some postcards. I especially loved the Wrigley Field postcards!
Kate and I discovered that we’ve both had dogs named Wrigley and I’ve really enjoyed finding a new blog to read.
I sent my Pen Pal Package to Angie at Pint of Goals. Go check out her blog, it’s been great getting to know her, too.
I can’t wait for March! If you’re interested in joining in on the party, click the image below. I think you can sign up through the 5th of the month. You have to mail your package by the 15th of the month and there is a set day to post about the exchange. You don’t need to have a blog to participate either. Thanks again Lindsay!!

Thanks for the sweet post! This was very fun to read. I’m glad you liked the treats and it was great getting to know you!
Of course. I hope you’re doing it next month, too.
How fun is that. I am a bad foodie though so I am not sure anyone would want to be food pen pals with me. Great job on our test.
I’ve been reading other people’s posts and I think the boxes run the gamut of creativity. Go check out Linsday’s blog, there’s a massive link up.
What a grat package! Yum! I love Speculoos spread and I can only imagaine how amazing it would be in a chocolate bar (I am drooling!!). I am going to sign up, what fun!! Great job on your exam, a B is great, especially when Chemistry isn’t your favorite.
I had never seen Speculoos spread. O.M.G. yum! I’m so glad you’re going to sign up. It’s been fun.
that krispy rice bar sounds right up my alley!
