1. Go check out my friend Rachelle’s blog – she’s hosting a virtual run today in show of support for her friend’s son Colton who is going to the hospital today for his 3rd transplant in his fight against Lukemia. Please get out today and run or walk 1.5 miles and send a picture to Rachelle. She’s going to share all the support with Colton and his family to let him know how many people are thinking about him today.
2. Biggest Loser – just a few notes (no spoilers here Coco, don’t worry)… they ran a 5k this week. Made me think about the amazing feeling I had after finishing my first 5k. I loved the pep talks the contestants were giving themselves while they ran. It’s such a mental sport and teaches you such a great lesson about how much you can do if you put your mind to it.
3. Biggest Loser – again on that 5K. They were running along the beach in Long Beach. Right where I ran this race and this race. Such a beautiful location. I wish I’d known they were filming that, I totally would have been there. Biggest Loser is hosting a series of RunWalk events around the country – check out this link to find locations.
4. Best Body Bootcamp update – my workouts are going okay this week. The moves of the week that left me walking a little crooked… one legged dumbbell deadlift and split squats. We’ve done deadlifts before, but since 10 pound weights are the max I have at home and I just wasn’t feeling like that was enough. But when the move became a one legged deadlift, that was the killer. Split squats were awesome last BBB round and clearly they are still something I need to do.
5. Another thought on working out at night – especially with the strength workouts that I’ve been doing, it’s weird to wake up the next morning and not be sore from the workout. But, I think the DOMS really does take 24 hours because as it gets later in the days, my muscle soreness creeps in. And by then, with the whole day since the workout, I seriously have to think hard about why the heck my muscles are hurting.
Who else works out at night and then forgets why they’re sore by the next night?
It’s Friday – check out Jill’s blog hop. Happy Fitness Friday friends.

I’m planning to get my 1.5 miles in today… and I’m finally getting caught up on Tina’s workouts. There are some good ones!! Laura @ Mommy Run Fast recently posted..Mapping out the Spring Race Calendar
Glad you’re enjoying Tina’s workouts. I talk about the program to everyone I know. I may have talked my husband/son’s hair person into signing up. I love the simplicity of her program and that it gets results!
Thanks for the mention Carrie! That would have been so cool if you could have been there for the BL race since it was so close:) hikermom recently posted..Colton’s Run is Today!
I have a horrible memory so I’m constantly having sore muscles with no memories of what I did. I don’t think it matters if I work out in the morning or at night; I still forget. jan recently posted..Daily Photos – Project 365
Agree, DOMS takes time to set in but when it does – :O BUT I love it! 1 legged anything is crazy hurt but a love/hate relationship! The bulgarian squat always gets me!
TBL – watching it again & seems better than the past few years so I hope they go back to more like it was when it first aired. I was getting to NOT like it….. Jody – Fit at 55 recently posted..Emotional Eating & Other Stuff…
I am the queen of late-night workouts! I do, often, wake up and feel disappointed that I don’t feel anything but then I remember that I only worked out a few hours before that! Kelly @ Laughter, Strength, and Food recently posted..Healthy Living Survey
I’m loving my late night workouts. I still debate on how/when to shower after the night workout. Most of the time I don’t shower, but I probably should. Oh well. My husband hasn’t complained yet.
I’m so hooked on BL! I have hardly watched any TV in years and yet I find myself anxiously waiting the next episode. I get teary eyed watching it! I think I have a girl crush on Jillian Jill @ Fitness, Health and Happiness recently posted..Ultramarathon || Recovery 101
I really need to start working out at night. It’s the only time I have to get it done, but by the end of the day I’m just exhausted. I really need to get my butt in gear, though, if I ever plan on fitting in my prepregnancy jeans again! Heather @ What Does She Do All Day? recently posted..Nutella Ice Cream
Hah! I did almost click away until I saw your note. I watched the first episode today. It’s going to take me a while to catch up. Interesting on the DOMS hitting you later in the day. I would think the activities of the day would help fend that off. Coco recently posted..Thirsty Thursday (The Swiss Beer Edition)

That totally gets me thinking. I think I might do a 1st race recap link up one day next week. I’d love to read those stories from my blog friends.
Happy Friday! I love the quote!

Thank you Barb. I hope you’re having a nice weekend.
Yeah, one legged deadlifts! I love them though.
Enjoying BL so far this season.. Just wish the editting was a little less dramatic!
I hate the timing of the commercial breaks during the weigh ins… so annoying.

I never thought about that – that the activity of the day should help the blood flow and maybe make it all hurt less. Glad I didn’t ruin BL for you
