Fitness Friday – sharing some great reads and random thoughts
I’ve started and stopped blogs posts 4 different times this week and just can’t seem to complete my thoughts. I feel like I”m busy checking off lots of things on my to do lists, so hopefully blogging will get back up to the top (damn you, real life priorities!)
In the meantime, there have been lots of great things to read in the blogger world, so I thought I’d share today:
Robby at Fat Girl v. World – who wrote a fantastic post about National Eating Disorder Awareness week. I really wanted to take her thoughts and write a whole post myself, but that obviously didn’t happen. So, go read her post and become aware about the issues.
LIndsay at the Lean Green Bean – also sharing some fantastic information about National Eating Disorder Week – Her post is titled My Body Doesn’t Make Me Beautiful. A must read!
And along the lines of the National Eating Disorder Awareness Week – have you seen the Seventeen Body Peace Treaty? I love the idea. Go read it and let me know what you think.
A final blog post to share from Miss Zippy – Pulling Back the Curtain – Amanda writes about “Fakebooking” and the tendency for people using social media to put a shiny coat of paint over the bad stuff to make it all look happy before sharing through social media. Love her honesty.
So many great articles – did you get a chance to catch all of these? Maybe my mind will settle down into sharing some of my own thoughts coherently soon.
A quick fitness update:
I’m winding down the last week of my round 2 of Best Body Bootcamp. I can’t say that I’ve been great about getting in the workouts these last two weeks. I’ve been working out consistently, just not always doing Tina’s workouts. And, I’ve noticed a difference in my fitness. I was doing Workout B for week 8 the other night and it just about kicked my butt. The next round of Bootcamp starts April 1st. Don’t be a fool and miss out
I’m looking forward to doing my final fitness test for Bootcamp and for taking my ‘after’ measurements and pictures.
Starting next week, I’m doing an in-person bootcamp with a bunch of friends of mine. I’m so excited. I purchased a Groupon for an 8 week session and there’s a group of 8 other mom friends of mine who are all going to do it together. I’m really actually excited to compare the workouts with what I’ve done through BBB – I wonder how they’ll compare.
And, if you’re reading online – my new theme is coming together… what do you think? I loved the challenge of the 28 Day Blog Challenge, it really motivated me to update some things. Next on the list, to clean up my tag cloud… I get a little tag happy and have way too many. I’ve also created a whole page up there for Favorite Products since I love getting recommendations from other bloggers, I thought I’d share some of my own.
Wow – I have no pictures to share with you all today… Bad blogger… let’s see what I can find from the week.
I had to unwrap 650 toothpicks last week to prepare the snack for the nutrition program at my son’s school.
I did have awesome helpers to put that snack together and serve the kids. Veggie kabobs for 650, anyone?
