I’ve seen a lot of blogs come and go since I started blogging almost 4 years ago. With the changes in social media platforms over the years, I’ve seen bloggers who change from a full blog to more micro blogging sites and everything in between. While others disappear completely which makes me sad. I do […] more

I’m having so much fun reading all the Ragnar SoCal Recaps from my teammates that I can hardly sit down to write my own thoughts. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen much of my documentation of the weekend. I was planning to just give you some highlights, but I got a little […] more

MOVE her body every day
NOURISH from the inside out
BELIEVE in herself and that anything is possible if you work hard enough
The theme of the 3rd week of Lorna Jane’s Move, Nourish, Believe Challenge was Believe. I love the thought of the quote above: “Believe in herself and that anything is possible if you work hard enough”
This was the final week of the #mnbchallenge. While last week was Nourish, I almost felt like this week was equally nourishing. Doing something for ourselves and thinking about what makes us happy and being appreciative of our support system really screams nourish to me.
Here is my week in pictures:
Monday: 2/17: “Spoil Yourself! – Do something just for you today! Take a walk, go to yoga, spoil yourself!” My goal of the day was to enjoy my lunch hour for me. There are too many days where I spend the full time running errands for other people. Today was my day. I went for a walk and made a stop at Starbucks. That night, I gave myself a manicure.
2/18: 5 Mindful Minutes – “Do good to your body, meditate for 5 minutes and find your zen.” Not really an exciting photo op. But, I did take 5 minutes first thing in the morning and I spent it quietly relaxing. I don’t think you could call it meditating, but I did clear my mind completely and just concentrated on breathing and feeling. It was actually rather wonderful. Considering the rest of the day was a particularly wild one, I did reflect on that calm a few times to get me through.
2/19: Be Happy – “Show us your happy place!” This was easy – the ocean – preferably at sunset. And, I’m obsessed with the song “Happy” from Despicable Me 2.
“Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof” You’re welcome, are you singing along now?
2/20: Thankful Thursday – “Let us know what you are thankful for!” Another easy peasy one – these faces. I’m so lucky.
2/21: Share the love – “S/O to your #1 supporter/motivator!” - my husband is amazing. I’ll link back to a story I shared here previously. I wouldn’t be who I am today without him.
I really enjoyed this challenge. A three week challenge with a different daily focus and a simple requirement to share on Instagram is one that I can get into. Aside from the potential for an amazing prize of $1000 shopping spree with Lorna Jane Activewear!! Of course I learned something about myself. As hard as it was to sit still for 5 quiet minutes that morning, it was really worth it. And, I don’t thank my family and my support system enough. Thank you to them for making me who I am and for putting up with me
There’s a Twitter chat on Wednesday, February 26th where the winner will be announced. :-) Even if you didn’t participate in the daily challenges, the chat will be super inspiring and I’d love to see you all there.
Disclaimer: I don’t have a disclaimer on this, but I just wanted to put that out there. There are a few featured bloggers for this challenge, but I’m not one of them. I’m participating because I want to, because I love the message behind the challenge and because the prize is potentially awesome
Two questions: Do you meditate? Are you singing the song?
