23 PAWS – October

So, I had started writing my Tuesday Tidbits post late yesterday and had it almost ready to go when I remembered that today is the 23rd! How could I forget about 23 PAWS? Go visit Cinnamon’s blog for all the fun dog and pet link ups.
Today I wanted to share some of the silly things my dogs have been up to.
My son recently joined the school band. He’s playing the trumpet. Petey isn’t the biggest fan of the trumpet. My apologies for the brief-ness of the clip…
But, I noticed this morning when my son was practicing again that Petey isn’t so upset. Maybe it’s because Dude is getting better at playing and it’s not so painful for any of us to listen to.
Then a funny about Cassie. We’ve got a tangerine tree in our backyard. Petey likes to eat the tangerines and it turns out that there’s a neighborhood squirrel that also likes the tangerines. It leads Cassie on a nightly hunt for the squirrel.
I’m not sure what she’s going to do with it when she catches it. But, I caught it snacking on video. Look at the center of the screen – the squirrel is hanging on that tangerine.
So, those are the silly antics that my dogs have been up to lately. And, just because I need to overdo things on the cuteness scale, I have to share a picture of the cutest thing. My mom’s friend breeds beagles – these puppies are 12 days old. My kids get the task of playing with these litters to get them used to kids… we’ll probably go when they are about 6 weeks old. I’ll be sure to share pictures of the cuteness.
Anyone else have a pet and a musical instrument playing kid? How do they get along? As a kid when my brother was playing the violin, we had a dog that would howl along.

No musical instruments in our house but both dogs will let you know if the volume on the tv is up too loud at night when they are trying to rest.

That’s pretty funny. Petey will growl at us when we move him around at bedtime. He sleeps for a while with my daughter and she likes him in a certain spot and he doesn’t always want to be there.
Haha, I love the video clips! That’s the first time I’ve seen a squirrel in a tangerine tree.
No instrument players or dogs in our home, but when our friend came over to watch world cup a few years ago, our cat, Wolfie, started meowing out of irritation because we were cheering/booing/screaming too loud for his comfort!

That’s funny about your opinionated cat. I made my son (about 18 mo. at the time) cry when I screamed at a football game once.
Aha! I knew there was some blogger I follow who posted the #23Paws!
Love the videos!! Thanks for sharing!

That’s me! Glad to visit with your Ripley, too.
So funny! I used to play the sax but our dogs at the time (greyhounds) didn’t even notice.

How long did you play the sax? Do you still play?
At my parents house Chloe would sit and watch and chase all the squirrels. She was always on squirrel patrol!! LOL. So funny. Love love love those puppies!!

I think the funniest part of Cassie squirrel hunting is that Petey could care less. He’ll bark a few times, but then he gives up.
Your dog is so cute! And the puppies…awww so little!

Thank you so much. I can’t wait to get to go play with those puppies.
